Searching for a mezuzah trace in Przemyśl for our “Mezuzah from this Home”* collection we saw an untouched metal plate, typical for pre-war mezuzahs. With the permission of the owner of the building, we opened the mezuzah and found an original mezuzah scroll. The scroll was found in time. In spring 2015 the front part of the building will be completly rennovated.

The last Jewish owners of the building were Kreszower and Lakser. The scroll was examined by a conservationist from the National Museum in Warsaw. Now it is kept in Mi Polin studio waiting for the right way to present it. It is the 4th known mezuzah scroll that was found in Poland last years. Date of discovery: 27.12.2014

Enclosed is a non kosher copy of the original found mezuzah scroll from Przemyśl.

Reduced size of scroll copy fits to Mezuzah with Menorah, Mezuzah with Crown, bronze mezuzahs from Warszawa, Kraków and Dynów. Original size of mezuzah scroll copy fits to Braille Mezuzah and rest of bronze casts from Mezuzah from this Home serie.
